Australian-American tenor Alexander Papandrea is an emerging artist and scholar residing in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Alexander has performed roles such as Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Camille in Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Frederic in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, and Orphée in Charpentier’s La descente d’Orphée aux enfers. In addition to standard repertoire, he has been prominently featured in world premieres, including Don Carlos in Carla Lucero’s Juana and Ludwig in Janice Hamer’s Lost Childhood. He was also part of the Soldiers’ Chorus in the Music Academy of the West’s production of Jennifer Higdon’s opera Cold Mountain.

In 2025, Papandrea will return to the stage as the Erste Gralsritter in Wagner’s Parsifal at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, and will perform in the chorus at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in Eugene Onegin.
